Renaissance Festival

Patrick and I have been talking about going to the Sterling Renaissance Festival for years now...Patrick had this weekend off, for a change and we decided to drive the 2.5 hours to Sterling and see what it was all about...it was pretty neat!! This guy was the first act we stopped to see and he was histarical. Also very entertaining...he juggled fire, climbed a ladder straight up with out it being against anything and stood on the top rung for about 15 min while twirling rings on his arms and a plate on his face...you will see below the ladder stunt!!

The next two guys were putting on a "kid friendly" sword fighting...they had some kids come and help them out. They just kinda started a "fight " right in the middle of the walk way...they were all very entertaining.

The Jousting was great!! Each side of the ring was assigned a Knight to cheer for ours was the black and blue knight "Victor" ...he WON the tournament!!

Our knight Victor and his "Maiden"
Getting the rules from the "judge".

Victor
Patrick helps Aidan shoot a cross bow...what you don't see is a wall with "holes" in it that they are shooting at. Aidan actually got it in the dragon hole..he "slayed the dragon"!!!! There were a line of kids doing it too, all older than Aidan and he was the only on to get it in a hole!

The "falconer" had African hawks, owls and of course the falcon...they did a show and these birds are amazing!!

There was a glass blowing demonstration which was really cool! The stoves with the glas reach 2400 degrees!!!

Some of the glass creations.

The Queen, her "Ambassador" and her Maiden.Aidan was so tired he just passed out!!
